Privacy policy

What we collect

We do not collect any personal data from the app, and the app sends nothing to us. Full stop.

• No account is required
• No names, emails, or contact information
• No in-app analytics, tracking, or advertising
• No servers: LYD never receives your data
• Your data leaves your iPhone only for your own iCloud account or an export you make yourself

Where your data lives

Your check-ins, journal entries, and settings are stored on your iPhone.

Journal entries are encrypted on your iPhone. The key that unlocks them is kept in your iCloud Keychain, which Apple encrypts end to end, so your notes open on your own devices and nowhere else. If iCloud Keychain is off, the key stays on your iPhone.

With LYD Plus, LYD turns on Automated iCloud Backup, which saves a copy to your own iCloud Drive. You can turn it off in Settings. Apple stores the backup in your iCloud account, and we can't access it.

Optional backup & export

You can manually export or import your data via local files (the Files app or AirDrop). This is entirely optional and fully under your control. LYD Plus also backs up to your iCloud Drive automatically until you turn that off.

Notifications

LYD sends local notifications to remind you to connect with your partner. These are generated on your device and respect your system's notification settings. We don't use remote push notifications and never collect data about how or when you interact with reminders.

This website

This website uses a self-hosted Umami service to count visits and understand which pages and buttons people use. Umami records page visits, referrers, general device information, country, and the named click events on the site. The data stays in Substruct's Umami service.

A 15 percent sample of sessions is recorded to help me see where the site is confusing. Replays capture clicks, scrolling, and page changes. Input fields are masked, each recording stops after five minutes, and replays are kept for 30 days. Umami doesn't use cookies or track you across other websites. Website analytics are separate from the LYD app, which has no analytics.

Your rights

Because we don't collect your data, there's nothing for us to sell, share, or delete. You're always in control of what's stored, whether to export or erase your history, and whether LYD backs up to iCloud. You can reset or delete all app data at any time in Settings.

Third parties

The LYD app doesn't use third-party analytics, ad networks, or SDKs. If you purchase LYD Plus, the transaction is processed entirely by Apple under their policies.
